Jayson is an international jewel thief whom Interpol, the international police organization, suspects of having committed burglaries in cities around the world.
He relocates to a city on the Caspian Sea where within a short time, a number of wealthy homes are burglarized and jewels stolen. Local police arrest him, and after severe interrogation, he confesses to the crimes. After a secret trial, he is sentenced to fifteen years in jail.
If Jayson had been arrested in the United States, what constitutional protections dealing with arrest and trial would he have been entitled to? Discuss fully.
