This week we are reading a play. “Trifles” by Susan Glaspell was written in 1016. Glaspell also wrote a short story version of the play under the title “A Jury of Her Peers.” Your packet has both versions. Your task is to read the play and the story and to compare the genres. Which genre, in your opinion, is more effective? What’s the difference? It will help you a lot if you did research on the genres to get some basic ideas on how the play is different from other genres, what it’s advantages and limitations are. Another issue you might want to address is the title. Which title works better? There is really no right or wrong answer to that, but whatever your opinion is you need to provide argumentation for it. You will write three pages literature essay as always.
