The Forensic Psychology field focuses on the psychological study of the consequences, causes criminal, violent behaviors as well as the research work applied within the legal and criminal justice regimes. In this field of psychology, presents the professionals with different problems as they conduct their duties. I am going to present integrity as an ethical problem that I would like to research to be able to acquire a better understanding. We are going to focus on the challenges the forensic psychologist experience when an issue that questions their integrity arises. My research question will be focusing on how integrity contributes to the competence of the forensic psychology? Honesty is essential in every public service field because it promotes competence (Chezum, 2016).
Integrity may be a problem if the forensic psychology opts to put his or her personal needs firsts and as a human is bound to an error in one way or the other he or she may find him or herself in a situation where he or she puts his or her interest first and provides an inaccurate report. Bribes are one of the aspects which tend to drive most forensic psychologist to give an erroneous report which leads to affecting the judgment granted by the court.
If the integrity is altered, the judgment would not be fair because it would mean that only the individuals who are financially stable would receive judgment in their favor even if they were on the wrong side of the law. Researching this issue would assist in determining how the forensic psychologist misuses their integrity, which affects the entire forensic psychology negatively.
