SEXUAL SELF ANALYSIS (First Paper)
The purpose of the first paper is to provide you with an opportunity to explore and assess yourself as a sexual person. This type of paper can be difficult unless you allow yourself to be open and thoughtful. There are many ways to approach this paper. You might use “Your Sexual History” as a guide, this handout will be provided at the 3rd class. Be sure to include both descriptive and analytical paragraphs in your analysis. Descriptive implies concrete experiences regarding your sexual development. Analytic means that you try to figure out why these experiences happened and what their meaning was for you at the time and today. If you can discuss your feelings openly (in writing) you may experience a reduction of fear and embarrassment; you may develop some newer understandings and appreciations of your own behavior and/or that of someone close to you; and, you may find solutions or alternatives to meet the requirements of your own situations. This paper should be at least 3, but no more than 4 pages long, single-spaced.
Second Paper
The purpose of the second paper is to provide you with an opportunity to reassess your personal stance regarding yourself as a sexual person. Reflect upon the impact this course might have had on your attitudes, knowledge and behavior regarding human sexuality. For example:
? What have you gained from the readings, lectures, discussion groups and AV materials?
? Where are you now in your feelings about various aspects of sexuality?
? What else do you need to deal with before you can arrive where you want to be sexually?
? How could the course be improved?
? What were the best parts of the course? Why?
This paper should be at least 2, and no more than 3 pages long, single spaced.
