personal reflection

Rewrite to sound more convincing and educated

As a young sailor, I had the same attitude as most Sailors when they enlist; four years and I’m done. However, over the past ten years I have come to embrace all that the Navy stands for. I have adopted the Navy Core Values and made them my own. I understand that the work of a naval officer is very involved and requires a lot of commitment. Since I have been on recruiting duty I have promoted, and supported diversity in many ways, such as putting in people from all cultural backgrounds. I have learned how to accommodate any and every one, and help them solve issues in which they didn’t think could be solved.
Having an aviation background, which is one of the most stressful jobs in the Navy, I have the hands-on experience, on how to adapt too many different situations on a high volume. In my career I have been placed in countless leadership roles, whether it is Flight Deck Supervisor, Work Center Supervisor, Team Leader or Enlisted Recruiter; where I am responsible for over 1250 high school seniors.  When I look at Surface Warfare Officers, I see some of the best officers in the world, and I couldn’t be more honored then to serve as a Surface Warfare Officer. Being a Surface Warfare Officer will allow me to challenge my mental and physical abilities, learn and lead the best sailors. By being a part of this community I am able to bring to the table, a young adult female, who has strong leadership skills and the determination to always want better and carry out any task the Navy requires.  I have had the opportunity to learn from officers that were instrumental in my personal and professional growth, and I look forward to serving in the same Wardroom.   A MUST SELECT TODAY…
