Older college students —e.g., students who entered the workforce directly out of high school and have enrolled in college in their 40s or later—have criticized university for having few or no provisions for them. For instance, some have observed that school recognizes, and provides resources for: students of color, students with learning disabilities, students with physical disabilities, and students from low-income backgrounds. But there is no recognition for older (“non-traditional-age”) students.
(B) Offer an institutional perspective story about circumstances under which the university might recognize this specific population of students and offer them needed resources in earnest. Your story must describe either a coercive, a normative, or a mimetic proces and explain why the process is coercive, normative, or mimetic.
