Students will write a 700-900 word essay using the chosen prompt as their thesis. The essay must include the following:

• Three body paragraphs, where each paragraph includes…
o Statement of argument in favor of thesis
o A short quotation from a class reading with (Author Page#) citation
o An explanation of the quotation in your own words
o A reaction to the quotation (e.g. you agree, you disagree, you think it should be modified, and why)
• A conclusion that either sums up your argument or points in a direction for further thinking
