To better understand the tenets of teacher leadership, it is important to delve into what underpins the concept, to better understand its true nature. For this assignment, you will be asked to identify theories that were used and are employed to construct the framework of teacher leadership. You will be connecting the theories to images conveyed in the Mirror Images course textbook. The images in the text are based on the theoretical framework of teacher leadership, and you are likely to recognize yourself and many of your colleagues in these images. Therefore, this exercise is designed to help you understand the relationship between theory and practice. Concept mapping is a great way to identify relationships between concepts and ideas. Constructing a concept map can be an effective way to determine which data can be used to best monitor student learning growth and engagement. For this assignment, you will create a concept map in which you will: Identify theories connected to and comprising the framework of teacher leadership. Be sure to cite the name of the theorist associated with originally constructing the theory. Connect the identified theories to each of the images conveyed in Mirror Images. Be sure to cite primary sources to support each theory within your concept map. Provide a reference page at the end of your 1–2 paragraph reflection listing the sources you used in your concept map and in your reflection. Write a 2–3 paragraph reflection in which you discuss an image from Mirror Images that you most identify with. How do you embody that image? Also explain how a theory or theories provide the framework for that image, and explain how you might use your new knowledge of the theory and image to enhance your own leadership skills in your educational environment.
