Write an example/illustrative essay advising your readers of something they should do (claim) and the
supporting points or reasons for doing it. Include a variety of examples that illustrate your claim’s
supporting points or reasons.
Illustrate to your readers how they can improve their lives by taking your advice, and give at least three
clearly explained, detailed, and vivid examples of the behaviors and/or actions you recommend.
You must use at least one personal and one hypothetical example. If you choose to use a
research/data example, you are only allowed ONE, and you must cite it according to MLA
guidelines. Since we haven’t covered MLA guidelines in detail yet, please do your best using the

The types of examples you include in your essay will be determined by the type of advice you give.
