Historic Figure: Robert LaFollette
It’s My Party and I…
want each of my most progressive friends to celebrate with me! You will each attend my party as a different Progressive Era figure. The date and location of my party are located on the invitation you received on google classroom so it would be rude to be late! It would also be rude to show up empty handed so make sure you bring me a gift! The present should be an item that is representative of your work as a reformer. Your card should be filled with heartfelt words (about 400 of them) that show the significance of your work and explains why you as a progressive want to share that item with me, a fellow progressive. In this card you must explain specifically why I, as a progressive, will love the present. Also feel free to let me know about any of your accomplishments as well as obstacles you have encountered or plans for the future!
The guest list & rubric appear below. Figures will be assigned on a first come, first serve basis. As you research, you may choose to search under Progressive Era, your reformer’s name, or the reform movement’s name. Let me know if you run into any difficulty locating information. Also, if you find anyone that was left off the guest list but should have been invited, feel free to bring him/her along instead but let me know ahead of time. At the party you will explain to the rest of the guests what your item is and why you brought it, so you should first become an expert on your role!
