Choose at least 3 primary sources about American presence in China (primary sources are materials created during the time, by people present at the events). They could be any of the following types:
Memoirs by American diplomats, soldiers, missionaries, businessmen, etc.
Oral history: your own interview of family members, friends, or associates.
American films about China during this period.
Newspaper reports and magazine articles of the time (use WKU library newspaper database to search)
You can use Abend and John Leighton, but they do not count as the required three sources.
Use at least two secondary sources from Jstor, Muse, or WKU library. (secondary sources are studies of this subjects by scholars later on). They can be either article or book format.
