In order to do that, each student will select one county in Oklahoma OR one county in Texas. For those who select a county in Oklahoma, you will describe the presence of stratification in your selected county and then compare the stratification in your selected county to the stratification that is present in Oklahoma County. For those who select a county in Texas, you will compare your selected county to Dallas County.
Approximately half of the paper will be used to make the comparisons on variables like housing characteristics, economic characteristics, social characteristics, etc. The remainder of the paper will be used to integrate material from the textbook to explain why the stratification exists and how it impacts the people who live in your selected county and the county to which you are comparing your selected county.
