While we psychologists have some personality tests we think are valid and useful, I have found the public seems more enamored with inkblots or handwriting analysis–or maybe “the puppy picture you select determines your personality”; magazines are full of stuff life this.

Do those ink stains and writing samples work to reveal the details of our personality?

We hear a lot about happiness. It is measured in whole countries, and it is a familiar word.

How do you feel?

My opinion is that happiness is short-term state that is overrated. More important is a softer state we might call life satisfaction or contentment, or something is resident most days for us.

Am I wrong (it happens)?
