Meaning and interpretation: During the last two weeks we encountered a variety of works of art that presented the religious, cultural or political ideas of the artist, patron or society that created them. Discuss how art serves as a conduit for these ideas. How did artists use art to present ideas to the public? What is the context of this presentation? Who was meant to view the works and why/how were the works of art meant to be read and understood?
