What are the differences between Abstract Expressionism and Minimal art

a. Two of the most important developments of art in the early 20th century were abstraction and non-objectivity (different things, but sometimes called the same). Define both of these terms, and give some examples of art that will both support your definitions and exemplify the influence of these developments on the art of the 1940s-60s.

b. Define Abstract Expressionism in your own words. (Keep in mind that a definition is usually a succinct, objective description that never uses the word or concept being defined.) After you have settled upon a definition, discuss some examples of art that support and exemplify your definition.

c. What are the differences between Abstract Expressionism and Minimal art? Are these differences in technique or materials or philosophy? Are there similarities? Use examples of art that support your reasoning.
