Conduct background research on two significant leaders of history (any era). One leader should be examined using the concept of soft power, and one leader should be examined using the concept of hard power. Analyze and assess their application of these concepts of leadership and power. Use specific circumstances to support your position—such as his/her implementation of soft or hard power tactics/skills. *Cite your sources! 3. This exercise should be completed within a 2- page response, double spaced, in 12 pt. times roman font. Part II: 1. Read Chapter 4, Joseph Nye, The Powers to Lead, and research and read articles on key leaders who have integrated (real or in their philosophy) the use of the concept of Smart Power: General Petraeus was heard discussing Smart Power in a testimony to Congress.
