Over the years many divisive issues have put philosophers on separate sides of a controversy. In this paper you are going to examine a famous controversy in philosophical history by looking at two different thinkers who took opposite sides on a philosophical issue. You will begin by explaining, with evidence from primary sources, the view of one supporter, a person who holds the statement to be true. Then you will follow that with view of one of the opponents, a person who argues that the statement is false, also with evidence from primary sources. Finally you will conclude by stating which of these philosophers you agree with, and why, or else why you disagree with both, and what you propose instead
