Assessment instructons
As the PCO organising the Retail Associaton Australian
Conference in October 2019, you need to research & collate the
Informaton needed for the Conference prospectus. Based on
historical data & associaton membership we are looking at 750
delegates
This is developing from the informaton sourced for assessment
1 and more refning of your conference proposal informaton is
expected.

PART A ( 80% of overall mark)
1. Conference Brief. (15%)
A Table format Conference Brief detailing the key informaton
for your conference.
2. Suggest a Theme for this Conference and give justicaton
for your theme selecton in line with current conference
trends. (5%)
3. Conirm an Australian Venue and allocated rooms for this
conference and accommodaton optons (5 star & 4 star).
Justfy your venue selecton using business principles
guidelines (10%)
4. Speaker Selecton (10%)
Using a speaker bureau conirm your full Speakers List
itng your Conference Theme & Objectve.
You need to present their Bios, Photos & a Topic that they will be
presentng.

5. Sponsorship Proposal (20%)
To assist with the Conference budget you need to source as many
Sponsors as possible.
A. Determine conference components that could be targeted
as part of your sponsorship portolio ie: Morning tea,
lanyards. Justfy the selecton of your ideas from a
marketng and revenue perspectve. Present this in a table
format
B. For 3 of your Conference components outline your
sponsorship package that could be applicable to that
partcular Conference element.
6. Gala Dinner Venue Choice (Menu & Floor plan) (10%)
The inale for this event is a Gala Awards Dinner. You need to
suggest a Venue, foor plan, Menu selecton for this Gala awards
dinner (including partners) with dancing. Critcally refect on your
selecton in line with your conference programme.
7. Marketng Promotonal Plan (20%)
Present a suggested promotonal mix plan to target your
potental Atendees, Exhibitors and Sponsors to roll out 6 months
prior to the event. Deine your key target markets and consider
their preferred communicaton methods. The Plan needs a social
media strategy inclusion
PART B: Conference Programming analysis ( 20 % of overall
mark)
As the PCO manager, critcally analyse the key planning and
operatonal issues, using this partcular conference that you
would have to take into consideraton for your Conference
programme and meetngs management to ensure Delegate
engagement. (max 750 words)
