Against Unconscious Emotions
In Chapter 6, Brogaard argues that we must recognize unconscious emotions. However, she also mentions some prominent scientists and philosophers who reject the idea that there can be unconscious emotions. In a short paper, make a case on behalf of those individuals who reject the possibility of unconscious emotions.
You must make an argument, and your argument must engage with the evidence Brogaard offers. That is, you will be arguing against her position, so you must discuss why she believes what she does, and why you think this belief is unwarranted. It is fine if you ultimately agree with Brogaard. Here you will be playing “devil’s advocate.”
