Case Study Assignment Help-System Design and Analysis

System Design and Analysis

Assignment: Case Study 7 (55 points)

Read the case study “Chapter Case: Scenic Routes” in the download for this case in Moodle.

The Case Study Review should include (3 written pages)

  • This does not include title pages or reference pages
  • This is at least 3 written page (full page)
  • Summary of the case
    • This should be thorough enough (but not plagiarized (meaning in your own words)) to give a reader who has not read the case a very good idea of what is going on
      • I know they do not give you much information for a summary but, the summary can include the tasks and why you need to understand the data needed and how it will be organized
      • This may be a great place for an in-text citation explaining databases and relating tables
      • If you have had the CIS315 course (or are presently in the course) this should relate very well to that course
    • Answer to the questions at the end of the case which are based on the textbook readings or outside sources
      • In Direction #1 for the case study on page 397you are to identify the entities and their relationships. And create an ERD for the reservations system based on the tables you identified and their relationships.
        • Basically identify the tables (entities) needed for the system and a diagram showing the process through the system (I will give you a hint there needs to be 3 tables). An example of a ERD is on page 360 of the text
      • In direction #2 you are to create a 3NF table design for the system
        • 3NF is explained on pages 370-372 of the text
        • Here basically name the 3 tables and all fields in the tables (you need to include fields that will form the relationships here (and you will identify these in next question))
      • In direction #3 you are to present which fields are Candidate, Primary, Foreign and Secondary keys (maybe explain what they are (in-text citations)) and which fields in your tables are going to be these keys (not all tables may have all of these keys. If it is a primary table then they would not have Foreign keys)
      • Direction #4: show data for 3 records in each table
    • Conclusion which is your thoughts on the case and its contents
    • In completing the case I want at least 2 in-text citations referencing the text book material or an outside source backing up your comments/answers
