Assignment Help on Breach of Professional Ethics-Professional Engineering Ethics

1.0 Description
Engineers use their knowledge and skills for community’s benefit to create engineering solutions for a
sustainable future. In doing so, they must strive to serve the community ahead of other personal or sectional
interests. Nevertheless, there have been several instances of engineering practice where actions of engineers
or engineering companies, did not meet the professional conduct and the standard required of them.
In this assignment, you need to select ONE such case from a published source and write a case study
report. You need to describe the facts of the case and the follow-up actions, in your own words. In light of
the Code of Ethics of Engineers Australia, and that of ONE other professional body (examples on VU
Collaborate support links), you have to indicate in your report the particular clause(s) of the Codes of Ethics
that was possibly breached, and justify your claims. Also, provide suggestions as to how a repeat of this type
of incident could be avoided.
When looking for study cases, keep attention to important ethical concepts, such as rights and
obligations; conflict of interest; professionalism and mentoring; confidentiality; whistleblowing; bribery,
fraud, and corruption; and ethical communication with the public in a social media world.
