Read Chapters 11 and 15 in your textbook Cultural Diversity: A Primer for the Human Services. Chapter 11 introduces you to the demographics of the Latino/o population and an interview with Roberto Almanzan, M.S. He shares his experience as a Mexican American and how it impacts the work he does with helping People of Color. You will learn about the importance of family and religion as well as the impact immigration has on the group. In Chapter 15 you will read an interview with Associate Professor Marwan Dwairy. Dr. Marwan provides a candid discussion on the historical relationship between American Arab/Muslim population and the Western world.
